Angela Kinari, Owner
Angela Kinari, 38, has spent her life working hard in pursuit of her dreams. Her journey has taken her on a lot of adventures.
“When I was six my father built a log home in Missoula, Montana,” Angela says. “I grew up there and my parents still live it in today.”
In 1996, Angela moved to Eugene. In 1997 she made her mark on Lane County with Delphina, a retail store specializing in punk, goth and industrial clothing. The store closed in 2001, but the Web site retail store Slash 'n Burn is still going strong and now run by her husband. “I’ve always been enthralled with fashion and glamour."
Angela bought Direct Home Funding in 2006 and has grown the company substantially in that short time.
“I love to search for the best loan for the client,” she says. “Sometimes it’s elusive and sometimes it’s a lot of work. But I love pushing paper, I love building relationship with clients and I just love what I do.”
She finds it fascinating to see how the properties that people want to buy are an extension of themselves.
“The people are the interesting part. I love helping people realize the vision they have of themselves. At Delphina it was literally playing dress up with fashion. At DHF, it’s about helping them get into the right house, one that matches who they are – beautiful or simple or stunning or a little bit of each.”
With her experience in the mortgage industry, Angela has some great advice for clients. “Relax!” The team at DHF does this all the time. The client’s don’t need to worry about the 11th hour or fourth quarter scramble. “We anticipate these things and are prepared to deal with the last minute ‘things’ that come up.”
If Angela were a type of house, she’d be a beautiful house in a lovely, sunny color that makes you laugh. “I would be solid, but have interesting architecture. Simple, yet with a few surprises here and there.

Kristen McClintock, 25, has been in the mortgage broker business for three years. The best part of her job is the look on people’s faces when they realize the house of their dreams is within reach. Kristen strives to make the process less stressful and daunting for first-time clients. Her favorite piece of advice for clients is not to be fooled by all the Internet and TV ads promising them a $500,000 house for pennies a month. Kristen graduated from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in English. If she were a type of house, Kristen would be “a Cape…simple, not too flashy, and family life oriented.”

Jim Heath, 67, is Direct Home’s most seasoned broker. He began working in the real estate and mortgage business more than 25 years ago. Jim never gets tired of seeing his clients become homeowners. The advice he gives most often is to look at all the costs of homeownership, including repairs, maintenance, and taxes. In 25 years of business, he has helped hundreds of people realize their dreams – even down to a cellar house for one unique client. If Jim were a house, he would be a pup tent – simple, but incredibly reliable.
